Where to go for a run in Bratislava

Bratislava has a lot to offer and among other things it provides great running tracks for passionate runners. In previous blog we talked events. In this one we did our best to point out the best tracks and believe you’ll be easily able to choose from them. We’re also bringing to your attention a couple of shops which you can find useful.

lake running

Kuchajda

One of the tracks located in the city center is way around the Kuchajda lake. The surface is made of concrete plates but you can also run off the path. The track is only 1,5 km long and is more suitable for those of you who are beginners or prefer easiest circles and like counting rounds.

park running

Medická garden and Presidential palace

Very close to Ambiente-apartments you can find Medická garden and garden of the Presidential palace which offer a bit smaller tracks like mentioned above Kuchajda. Both circles are only about 550 metres with gravel surface and are located in charming environment of Bratislava’s favourite parks. However you should check out the opening hours. Great tip for you is to make couple of rounds around Medicka garden and then run through the town to the Presidential palace garden which is only about 1 km away.

running

Železná studnička

For those who prefers running out of busy town and be surrounded by forrest we reccommend signed halfmarathon track by Železná studnička on the hill above Bratislava. You can choose from two different start offs and the way then continues through the forest. Every kilometer is signed which helps runners to control their performance. At the start there is a map and a pictured warm-up you shouldn’t skip before every run.

running

Kamzík

Running track Kamzík, which is also located on the hill above the city offers almost 2 km long track in middle-terrain. The road is also signed so runners can keep an eye on their performance, distance and height above sea level. Experienced runners can try run under the cableway up to the hill.

running dunaj

The banks and bridges of Danube

Another great track for your running activities is the 10 kilometres long way on the both banks of river Danube and on the bridge Apollo and Lafranconi. This track is certified and quite young. Near by is also Janko Kral park (Sad Janka Kráľa) which offers you a 1,6 km long track.

At the end of this blog we would like to give you a couple of tips where to go shopping if you lose or forget any of your sport equipment or just need a new one.
